Installing Webmin on centos 6



Webmin is a simple and most effective to make a good start with server. This tool helps to install all much need servers or services on the go without any help from SSH though it runs as its own as a SSH with root. To install webmin Here i am using CentOS 5.4 32 bit If you are using the RPM version of Webmin, first download the file from webmin site. run the command : wget

After completing download then run the command : rpm -U webmin-1.620-1.noarch.rpm

[[email protected] download]# rpm -U webmin-1.620-1.noarch.rpm warning: webmin-1.620-1.noarch.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 11f63c51 Operating system is CentOS Linux Webmin install complete. You can now login to root with your root password.

You can login to webmin using http://your-ip:10000 if the hostname doesn’t resolve and login using root user and password. Bingo, Webmin is ready to run.
